Ioannis Loulakas

Radiologist

Radiologist Dr. Ioannis Loulakas, Director of the Radiology Department at Mediterraneo Hospital, was born in Eretria, Evia. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1997. Following his studies, he completed his military service as a conscript physician, while also serving as a rural doctor in Lesbos.

During his specialization in Radiology, Dr. Loulakas worked at the General Hospital of Melissia "Amalia Fleming" and at the "Laiko General Hospital of Athens." After completing his specialty training, he worked for two years as a scientific associate at private medical and diagnostic centers. He then worked at the "Patision" General Hospital as an assistant physician in the CT Department.

In 2008, he joined the Hellenic Navy and served as a military physician, where in his later years, he held the position of Chief Radiologist for the CT and MRI Departments, as well as for the Ultrasound – Triplex Department at the Naval Hospital of Athens.

From May 2020 to the present, Dr. Loulakas has been transferred from the Naval Hospital of Athens (NNA) to the Naval Hospital of Salamis (NNS), where he serves as Deputy Director and Director of the Radiology Department.

Additionally, he has long served and continues to serve as the Scientific Director and Collaborator in the CT, MRI, and Ultrasound-Triplex Departments in several private medical institutions and diagnostic centers in Athens and Piraeus.

Dr. Loulakas has actively participated in a significant number of scientific conferences and has contributed to scientific publications in both international and Greek journals.
